In the last few months, I started using large language models (LLMs) to help me with coding projects and solving computer-related problems. I want to take a moment to reflect on my use of this technology and how I'd like to engage with it going forward.
View original post ↗I resisted the Angine de Poitrine hype for a bit because their visual style seemed like a way to grab peoples' attention, and I'm a bit wary of things like that. however, I'm coming around to supporting them.
first of all, their music is actually quite good, their appeal is not purely visual.
second, the costumes and the way that they act is also pretty cool and fun, so nothing wrong there. if it happens to drive engagement, good for them.
third, they are really catching on with people who usually only listen to Spotify playlist filler, and that's very interesting. how long this will last, I don't know, but anything that broadens peoples' musical horizons is a good thing.
they seem to be hitting at a moment where generic slop is at an all-time high, and people are craving something so weird it can only be made by humans.
I also feel that their musical style is reflective of the madness of the present global situation, and offers some sense of catharsis to that.
so yeah, rock on AdP.
